We are one step away from crowning a champion, the greatest TV show every made. It has been a fun and brutal tournament. Heartbreak has found us all, I am sure, but it is time to vote for a champion. So without further ado let’s see what happened in the final four.
Final Four Results
Breaking Bad(1) vs. Game of Thrones(1): This was the one everyone was waiting for. I expected it to be very close, and was wrong. Game of Thrones won this trial by combat in decisive fashion taking 64.7% of the votes. Breaking Bad might as well be that inferior knight of the Vale getting owned by Bronn in season 1 of GOT. I have suffered at some horrible upsets throughout the tournament, but this makes everything right. You can hate the ending of GOT, I do, we all do. But it is just so much better than Breaking Bad, and I am very pleased to see GOT moving on to the championship.
Chernobyl(1) vs. Band of Brothers(1): This less exciting but still important matchup did not go at all like I thought it would. Band of Brothers won in similar fashion as GOT, taking 62.5% of the vote. I thought it would be the exact opposite result, but I guess more people like Band of Brothers a lot than I thought. It makes me feel better about Lost going down to Band of Brothers a couple rounds ago.
The Championship
To say Band of Brothers is an underdog would be a hell of an understatement. It was consistently good throughout its ten episodes, but was only outstanding in one or two moments of the whole show. I don’t have a lot of negative things to say about it, besides that it just isn’t that spectacular. Game of thrones, however is chalk full of incredible moments, built up over seasons. It shocked us, made us laugh and cry. Though its last two seasons were a flop, as a whole it was an incredible ride. I would be more stunned than the season 3 finale of GOT, it if lost in the championship, but you never know.
