Eddie Redmayne Reveals Which Creatures Will Return In ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Sequel

In an interview with EW, Eddie Redmayne revealed two creatures that will be making an appearance in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald. The two he mentions specifically are fan favorites Pickett the Bowtruckle,

and the unnamed Niffler,

both of which stole the hearts of viewers in the first film in the Fantastic Beasts series.

In the same interview, executive producer David Heyman revealed further information about how the animals will play into the sequel.

“There are as many beasts in the film as in the first. But the main driver in the first film was finding the beasts. That’s not the driver in this film, it’s not a central part of the plot. But beasts feature in the film and feature strongly.”

I think that makes complete sense and I’m glad they’re moving that way. With films taking the turn they are, keeping the beasts as the main focus would hinder the story-telling ability of what these movies are now about: the fight against Grindewald.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald will be released on November 16, 2018.
